How Solely works

What does Solely do?

You add a subscription or free trial and the date it charges. Solely reminds you three days before the last day to cancel, the day before, and on the day. It can also ring an alarm on that last day, even in Silent mode. Keeping it or canceling it is up to you.

Does Solely know when I’m charged?

No. Solely works only from the date you enter. By design, it never connects to your bank, your Apple Account, or the services you subscribe to, so it can’t see, stop, or refund a charge.

If a service changes its price or billing date, or bills on a different day than the one you entered, update the subscription in Solely. When in doubt, check the date with the service.

Why is the last day to cancel earlier than the charge date?

Some services, like Apple, can charge up to a day early. Cancel by the last day to be safe. Solely sets that day two days before the charge, and you can change it for any subscription.

Which devices does Solely work on?

Solely is for iPhone and needs iOS 26 or later.

Canceling a subscription

Does Solely cancel subscriptions for me?

No. Solely only reminds you. It can’t cancel, pause, or change a subscription. You always cancel with whoever bills you.

Where do I cancel?

That depends on who bills you.

  • Apple. If you subscribed inside an app from the App Store, or to one of Apple’s own services, open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then tap Subscriptions. You can also go to apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.
  • The service itself. If you subscribed on its website or directly in its app, cancel on that website or in that app.
  • Another company. If it’s billed through Google Play, Amazon, your mobile carrier, a TV or internet provider, or as part of a bundle, cancel with that company.

Not sure who bills you? Look for the receipt in your email, or check the name on your card statement.

I canceled. How do I stop the reminders?

Open the subscription in Solely and tap “I’ve already canceled” at the bottom. It moves to the Archive and the reminders stop.

I canceled, but I was still charged.

Solely can’t see or reverse a charge. Contact whoever billed you. For charges from Apple, you can ask for a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Reminders and alarms

I didn’t get a reminder.

Check that notifications are allowed in Settings › Apps › Solely › Notifications. Reminders arrive at the Reminder time you chose in Solely’s settings.

The alarm didn’t ring.

Two things need to be on: Alarms in Settings › Apps › Solely, and Alarm on the last day in Solely’s settings.

Can I change what time reminders arrive?

Yes. Open Solely’s settings and set the Reminder time. It applies to every subscription.

Is there a widget?

Yes. Open Solely’s settings and tap Home Screen widget to see how to add it.

Purchases

What’s free, and what does the unlock add?

Adding subscriptions is free, with no limit. So is the first round of reminders for each one, alarm included. The unlock is for subscriptions you decide to keep: Solely then reminds you before every charge from then on. You pay once. There’s no subscription.

I paid, but the app is locked again.

Open Solely’s settings and tap Restore purchase. Make sure you’re signed in with the Apple Account you bought it with.

How do I get a refund for Solely?

Purchases are handled by Apple. You can ask for a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Your data

Where is my data stored?

On your device and, if iCloud is on for Solely, in your own iCloud. We can’t see it. The Privacy Policy has the details.

How do I delete my data?

Delete any subscription in the app, or delete the app to remove everything it stored on that device. Anything synced with iCloud can be removed in your iCloud settings.
